The
Hauntings of Elgin Barrett first launched as a podcast with Annie’s Oak in October 2020. The settings for the nine stories of the first
season ranged from an abandoned Welsh hill farm to a Sheffield building site,
from a converted pub in London’s East End to the courtyard of a Cambridge
college.
The second season featured another desperate cast of characters including a
sinister London fashionista, three young hooligans who face the ultimate test
of nerve, and a woman who believes she is being followed from in front.
The
stories are all told as dramatic monologues. Elgin drew on his long experience
as a radio producer to record them with a team of top
radio actors: Katie Cotterell, DeNica Fairman, Wayne Forester, Glen McCready,
Neil McGarry, Charlotte Strevens and Joan Walker. Elgin also voiced five of the
stories himself.
